Fans of The Dude, a.k.a. Achievers, are celebrating two decades of The Big Lebowski with Lebowski Fest.
What started in a small Louisville bowling alley has evolved into a celebration of all things Lebowski around the world.
This year, the event returns home and is partnering with Against The Grain Brewery and Smokehouse, who will provide drinks for several events.
The Fest kicks off at the Against The Grain Brewery and Smokehouse with the official Lebowski Fest Pre-Party on Thursday, July 19th with music by King Kong, trivia, prizes and other fun things. The Lebowski-themed art show “Is That What This Is A Picture Of?” will be launched at the Pre-Party. It’s slated to feature work from Spoke Art Gallery’s recent New York show “Oh Coen, Where Art Thou?” The art will be available for purchase at during a silent auction; proceeds will benefit Wellspring Mental Health Recovery Services.
The Movie Party kicks off the main event on July 20 at Executive Strike & Spare at 6 p.m. All ages are welcome. Murder By Death and Howell Dawdy will perform and there will be a live tribute to the soundtrack featuring The Deloreans with special guest Jim Hoosier who played Liam O’Brien in the film. The music will be followed by a screening of the The Big Lebowski and themed games.
On July 21 the fun is back at Executive Strike & Spare where there will be unlimited bowling, costume and trivia contests starting at 8 p.m.
It all wraps up with the After Party with music by DJ Sam Sneed from midnight to 2:30 a.m.
