Back to School Makeup Tips for Teens

Here are two great looks for class and dates

The new school year is upon us.

Teenagers everywhere are discovering new styles and trying to look their best as they head back to class.

Wearing makeup is a big part of that for many middle and high school girls.

But, what products should they use? And how should it be applied?

Makeup artist Andrea Johnson shows us how to create two great looks that are age-appropriate.

She suggests that teens use affordable products available at local drug stores, Walmart, Target, etc.

She starts with a base that includes:

  • Moisturizer
  • Primer
  • Liquid foundation
  • Concealer
  • Contour sticks
  • Setting powder
  • Finishing spray
  • Highlighter

Johnson suggests keeping it simple when going to class, with a little mascara and lip gloss.

For school dances and dates, she shows us how to add color and shine, using:

  • Eyebrow filler
  • Eyeshadow
  • Eyelash extensions
  • Blush
  • Lip pencil, lipstick & lip gloss

Andrea Johnson is the owner of Beats By Drea, a makeup service and product line, and La vie Est Studio.

She specializes in makeup for special events, and also creates customized looks for special effects.

She recently launched two new shades of lipstain with Kolorene, called Heaven and Puddin’.
