New diner to open in former Bluegrass Burgers location

A well-known Louisville restaurant owner is expanding to the recently-closed Bluegrass Burgers location.

Dan Borsch is taking over the space at 3334 Frankfort Avenue in the Crescent Hill neighborhood.

Borsch owns the Old Louisville Tavern, Toonerville Deli, Old Louisville Pizza Company and Burger Boy Diner.

He announced that the new location will follow the Burger Boy Diner concept, and is expected to be open by Thanksgiving.

“Once I saw the space and the location, I thought it fit exactly what I was looking for. I love the vibe and feel of the neighborhood,” Borsch said.

Bluegrass Burgers closed at the Frankfort Avenue location earlier this month.

Falls City Hospitality Group attorney Chip Hamm said the company made the decision to focus on their other restaurants.

“I have known Dan for a very long time. We wanted to leave the space and the neighborhood in good hands. We couldn’t be happier for him and for our loyal neighborhood patrons. He has the vision and passion to do something special here.”
