The River City Winery has wine in its name, but no wine on the tables.
According to our partners at the News and Tribune, the restaurant’s liquor license expired in June of last year for both New Albany and Franklin locations.
The restaurant wasn’t able to renew the license because it didn’t provide the necessary documentation.
A sign on the door of River City Winery on Pearl Street says “No wine service today. Sorry.”
But, the restaurant is still open and is still serving food.
Owner Gary Humphrey can reapply to get a new liquor license. That could take several weeks.
