Louisville Free Public Library hosts summer reading kickoff event

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (DERBY CITY WEEKEND) - The Louisville Free Public Library will host an event for the kickoff of its summer reading program.

The Summer Reading Kickoff and Cultural Pass Day will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Library on York Street.

The library said the event will feature booths and activities throughout the day highlighting venues participating in Louisville’s 2022 Cultural Pass.

The Cultural Pass was announced on Tuesday, providing families in the Louisville-area a free way to take advantage of the city’s many museums, parks and entertainment.

Other activities in Saturday’s event include face painting, magic shows and live performances from the Louisville Leopards, Flamenco Dance and Redline Performing Arts.
