LOUISVILLE, Ky. (DERBY CITY WEEKEND) - Santa Claus is making an appearance at the Louisville Zoo for one day only.
The Louisville Zoo said jolly old St. Nick will be making a stop to the zoo on Dec. 10 to bring treats for the animals and meet with guests young and old.
Santa will be within the Main Plaza Gift Shop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where guests can write a letter for him to take back to the North Pole with him.
Animal ambassadors will also be nearby for guests to meet, according to a release.
The animals within the zoo will also be fed special holiday-themed enrichment items made by Santa’s elves.

Guests will be able to decorate cookies for $4.99 a cookie or two for $7.99, or enjoy a cup of hot cocoa in the gift shop for $3.99. Fresh roasted s’mores will also be available for $4.99 in the Main Plaza.
The zoo said it is also collecting canned food items for Dare to Care as part of Kroger Wild Winter Days, helping feed families in need this holiday season.
Discounted tickets will be offered for guests who bring at least one canned food item.
