LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Kentucky Derby Festival is searching for its next team of running experts to represent the 2025 GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Race Ambassadors consist of proactive runners and walkers who play a key role in keeping runners and walkers informed and motivated during their training. KDF says the group advocates for people to engage in a healthy lifestyle.
Ambassadors are chosen through an application process where they highlight their passion for running and involvement in the running community. they have the responsibility of recruiting runners and walkers in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
Applications are open now through August 14. Ambassadors will serve a one-year term and are expected to attend committee meetings and Derby Festival race events.
“For more than a decade, our Race Ambassador Team has been essential in the development and continued growth of the GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon,” Kentucky Derby Festival Race Director Chris Martini said. “Our Ambassadors recruit and inspire participants each Spring to cross the Finish Line for Kentucky’s largest day of road racing. We’re excited to see who will be part of our next class of Ambassadors.”
Those selected will receive official race ambassador merchandise, complimentary registration for the 2025 GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon and will be featured on the race website.
