68th annual St. James Court Art Show returns to Old Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The 68th Annual St. James Court Art Show is officially underway in Old Louisville, featuring the work of more than 600 artists from all over the country.

The free event runs until Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1402 St James Ct, Louisville, KY 40208.

The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) and the Parking Authority of River City (PARC) are teaming up for another year to help art lovers get to St. James Court.

From Friday through Sunday, patrons can park their cars at PARC’s Brown Hotel Parking Garage at 658 South Third Street for $15, which includes a round-trip ticket to the art show via TARC.

With bus frequency approximately every 15 minutes, PARC operations staff will be on hand at the garage to distribute tickets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“We’re glad to continue building upon a strong partnership with PARC to offer service that benefits our community,” TARC Executive Director Ozzy Gibson said. “TARC is happy to support the art show, and relieve the stress of looking for parking.”

From the Brown Hotel, attendees will board at the “TARC Boarding Here” sign near the Brown Hotel Garage and South Third Street. Patrons will look for the same boarding sign for the return trip from the art show at South First Street and West Magnolia Avenue and catch the bus back downtown.

“Spend more time at the art show and less time in traffic. Park at PARC and ride with TARC,” PARC Executive Director Michael Tudor said.

The ride will take approximately 15 minutes each way, but that depends on traffic. The first bus is scheduled to leave the Brown Hotel Parking Garage at 10:05 a.m. each morning, and the last bus is set to leave the art show at 6:27 p.m. each evening.
