LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Decades of restaurant dishes will highlight the Louisville diverse food scene Wednesday night as the Taste of Louisville brings more than 70 chefs together at the Mellwood Arts Center.

“This is a great way to give back and try a lot of great food,” Chris Williams, owner of Four Pegs said. “We get to exchange food and hang out with other chefs, which is something we don’t typically get to do.”

The 50th anniversary of the Taste of Louisville is the fourth time Four Pegs participated. Williams will bring their signature ribs with a twist. Year after year, the event grows along with Louisville’s food scene.

A ticket to Taste of Louisville supports the Kentucky Restaurant Association along with local charities throughout the city. This year proceeds from the silent auction will go to Frankie’s Family and Feeding Louisville.

Frankie’s Family can be described as a helping hand from the heart. The organization started in 2016 by making sure kids and elderly people received Christmas presents. In 2023, they helped over 750 families.

Feeding Louisville is a team of culinary experts trying to tackle food insecurity by providing meals to those in need. They recently have expanded into a new space, making it easier to serve more people.

“For organizations like Feeding Louisville and Frankie’s Family, we are community-supported,” said founder Rhona Kamar. “Events like this give the bigger community a chance to support us. People who don’t have time to volunteer or write that big check., can come to an event like Taste of Louisville, have fun and support our causes.”
