Abbey Road on the River extends deal with Jeffersonville for 10 more years With the existing deal set to expire after this year’s festival, the new agreement will keep the Beatles-inspired music festival in Indiana

Jeffersonville, In. (WAVE) - Abbey Road on the River confirmed on Wednesday, April 16 that they have extended their agreement with the city of Jeffersonville and Southern Indiana Tourism. With the existing deal set to expire after this year’s festival, the new agreement will keep the Beatles-inspired music festival in the state of Indiana for a further 10 years.

“Ten years sounds about right. If Paul and Ringo are still performing into their 80’s, I figure at 76, I can keep going too,” said festival producer Gary Jacob during a conversation with Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore. “This festival belongs in Jeffersonville. The city, the fans, the spirit—it all comes together here in the most beautiful way. With this agreement, we can dream even bigger.”

Over the span of its 23 year existence, Abbey Road on the River has transformed into more than just a music festival for the people of Jeffersonville. A press release about the festival’s new deal says the annual event has brought tradition, reunion, and a celebration of peace, love, and Beatles music.

“This festival is part of Jeffersonville’s heartbeat,” said Mayor Mike Moore. “Abbey Road on the River brings people together, fills our city with joy, and gives us something to be proud of. It’s part of who we are now, and I’m thrilled it will continue for another decade.”

The festival has also become one of Southern Indiana’s top tourism events. By generating millions of dollars in economic activity it supports hotels, restaurants and local shops every year.
