LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) -It’s that time of year. Time to pick what WAVE Sunrise Anchor Shannon Cogan will wear in this year’s Kentucky Lottery Derby Dress Contest.

We’re teaming up with Louisville boutique Rodeo Drive and local milliner Emily Saylor for the contest. Raquel Koff opened Rodeo Drive in 1993.

“It’s been 31 years, almost 32 years,” Koff said with a smile. “And I’m only 35.”

Koff has always loved fashion. Her daughter, Michelle Tasman, has been working alongside her for about 15 years now. They picked out two looks for you to vote on in this year’s Kentucky Lottery Derby Dress contest.

The first is a one-shoulder dress by Bronx and Banco in very popular colors.

“You’re going to see a lot of greens, a lot of yellows, a lot of blues,” Koff said. “The ruffle has horsehair, so it allows it to stay up. That’s what it’s called. It’s a binding that makes it stick out.”

It has a sash with gold tassels.

“It has so much movement,” Tasman said. “So flirty, I love it,” Michelle said.

Louisville milliner Emily Saylor custom-made a fascinator to go with it using silk abaca.

”I tie-dyed it, kind of brush-dyed it a little bit,” Saylor said. “The good thing about that fabric is you can move it anyway you want it, and it will just stay.”

She also hand-dyed the feathers to match. With look two, Saylor hand-dyed the crown piece. She calls her pieces whimsical. Saylor happened to have some of the same fabric as the dress.

“I love when I see a full-scale outfit that head to toe everything is coordinated and matches perfectly,” Saylor said.

The dress is also by Bronx and Banco, a female-owned company.

”They are hot, hot, hot, and we are the only ones in Louisville to actually carry this line,” Tasman said.

The zipper in the back is exposed, and florals are still in. These florals have a 3D effect.

“Every single piece is hand-done and hand-placed,” Michelle said.

So, it’s your turn to vote.
