LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) -Another cherished Kentucky Derby tradition is back at Churchill Downs.
Dawn at the Downs offers guests the opportunity to watch some of the world’s best thoroughbreds train at Churchill Downs ahead of the Kentucky Oaks and Derby.
The free event kicks off Thursday, April 24 and runs through Wednesday, April 30. Workouts begin at 6:45 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Oaks and Derby contenders will be on the track for 15 minutes starting at 7:15 a.m. Derby horses will have yellow towels, while Oaks contenders will have pink.
Guests can park for free in the Yellow Lot off Longfield Ave and enter through the clubhouse gate. For more information, click here.
