Bardstown amphitheater gets solid makeover thanks to community donations

My Old Kentucky Home Amphitheater
The Bardstown amphitheater will soon be filled with crowds once again.

The show will go on!

In Bardstown, The Stephen Foster Story is gearing up for its 61st season now that there’s a new stage at My Old Kentucky Home Amphitheater.

The old stage was torn down last fall because of safety concerns.

The community came together to raise a million dollars to keep the amphitheater open.

“It’s going to be really exciting for the actors and for the crew to be in a brand new facility and see this steel structure that we have — before it was made of wood and things that wouldn’t last forever and this will definitely be here longer than I am,” Marketing Director Billy Bass said.

The season kicks off June 8 with the Stephen Foster Story.

Also showing this summer is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The amphitheater will also host a live concert series running from June to September.
