Things are getting a little sweeter in the Portland neighborhood.
Cellar Door Chocolates announced Monday that its opening a new production facility at 1301 West Main Street, in the same building that houses the Heine Brothers’ headquarters.
The new location will include a tasting room and retail store.
Cellar Door is a locally-owned company with two current stores – one downtown on South Fourth Street and another at Butchertown Market. Those locations are expected to remain open.
The company’s founder, Erika Chavez-Graziano said the new facility is set to open in the fall, but an exact date hasn’t been set.
“This building is going to be an amazing destination point in the Portland Neighborhood,” Chavez-Graziano said. “It has a vibe that you can only get from a turn of the century building. Our new headquarters will provide a unique experience, complete with a tasting room and space for events. More importantly, the added space will allow us to produce more delicious chocolate confections.”
