Jeffersontown residents will soon enjoy the popular local taqueria, El Taco Luchador.
The restaurant, named the most popular taco spot in the state by BuzzFeed & Yelp and recognized in Southern Living’s “City Guide to Louisville,” announced Monday its fourth location will open in Jeffersontown on July 17.
The new El Taco Luchador is located at 9204 Taylorsville Rd. and includes a full bar and vibrant outdoor patio.
“(The) J-town location has been in the works for a while,” Rick Moir, Olé Hospitality Group partner, said. “Everyone in the area seems to be very excited, not only about the tacos, but also about the fact that we’re locally-owned and operated.”
The restaurants, which are part of the Olé Hospitality Group, are known for their brightly painted walls adorned with colorful signature masks of “Luchadores,” the famed wrestler-entertainers of Mexico.
El Taco Luchador has a menu consisting of 10 fresh, cooked-to-order tacos, Mexican sandwiches called “tortas,” salads and signature sides.
The local restaurant chain has been expanding since the first location opened in 2013. The original El Taco Luchador on Baxter Avenue opened in 2013 and was expanded in 2018. A St. Matthews location at Meridian Avenue was added in 2017. The restaurant’s downtown Louisville location, on Jefferson Street, opened in August of 2018. Later this summer, their fifth location at Colonial Gardens is set to open.
