After more than 50 years touring and revolutionizing the music industry, a global icon is bringing his touring days to an end. Elton John kicked off his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in Allentown, Pennsylvania on September 8. Soon, he’ll be making his way to Derby City.
“Performing live fuels me and I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play to audiences across the globe. I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour,” John said on his website.
The tour will stop in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8 p.m.
“After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children,” John said.
The tour will wrap up in Jacksonville, Fla., in March 2019.
