Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is most definitely a summer staple, but like many other things, this season will be much different. They announced some changes and procedures in a message to their guests from Fourth-Generation Owner, Leah Koch, on their website.
Firstly, the park is set to open on June 14. This date is in accordance with Gov. Holcomb’s Back on Track Indiana Plan.
When they open you can expect to see hand sanitizer available all over the park, not unlike their free unlimited soft drinks. You should also expect to wait a bit longer in line for the Thunderbird and all other rides as they will be sanitizing them.
However, this year you will be able to wait in ‘virtual lines’ on your phone instead of in person. Accesso Technology Group plc announced a new agreement with Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari® that will include the theme park’s first-ever use of accesso’s virtual queuing technology.
They may even limit park attendance while they figure out how to make the park as clean and safe as possible.
Just like all businesses affected by COVID-19, they are reassessing all aspects of the situation and creating new safety procedures as things progress.
They ask that you stay up to date with their safety procedures and updates by checking their website.
This affects many other things, too. Like if you bought a ‘Pick Your Price Ticket’ or reserved a Cabana rental for any date in May or early June. Don’t worry. Holiday World plans to take care of all their guests, even season pass holders. Click here to learn more.
Will their new ride be ready? They say its too soon to tell.
Will everything else be open? Maybe. Maybe not. Their website says that because some nonessential businesses had to shut down, some ride parts they needed were not available.
Are they still hiring? Yes. Much of the hiring and training processes are now online.
