Forecastle Artist Profile: Chris Stapleton

Kentucky native and Grammy award winner Chris Stapleton is now a worldwide name.

The Lexington born Stapleton’s music is described as a mix of Country, Bluegrass and Southern Rock.

He has written a number of hits for other artists including “Come Back Song” for Darius Rucker and “Love’s Gonna Make it Alright” for George Strait.  But it was his 2015 debut album, Traveller, that really thrust him into the spotlight.

After his duet with Justin Timberlake at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards, his album sales skyrocketed, according to Billboard. The song “Tennessee Whiskey” reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.  Some of his other hits include Nobody to Blame”, “Parachute”, “Either Way”, “Broken Halos” and “Millionaire”.

Stapleton released two albums in 2017, From A Room: Volume 1 and From A Room: Volume 2. From A Room: Volume 1 won him 5 awards: Country Music Association Awards Album of the Year in 2017 and 2018, the Grammy’s Best Country Album, Academy of Country Music Awards Album of the Year, iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Album of the Year and Billboard Music Awards Top Country Album.
