Galaxycon won’t return to Louisville in 2020

Galaxycon won’t be coming back to Louisville this year.

The event attracts comic book fans and celebrities from movies and TV shows.

The owner of Galaxycon posted on its website that they were unable to reach a deal with the Kentucky International Convention Center to return for 2020.

A representative with the convention center confirmed Galaxycon wanted a new multi-year commitment on convention dates, but that’s something the center can’t do because of other event bookings.

“If economic conditions change in the coming years, it’s possible we would return to Louisville,” a statement on the Galaxycon website reads.

Galaxycon’s owner and the convention center representative both said they hope to reach a deal in the future.
