Father's Day is quickly approaching, June 16 to be exact, and finding something to do can be tricky. Don't panic just yet, we compiled a list of events happening in Louisville specifically catered to the day dedicated to dads.
Louisville Bats game
The Louisville Bats game on Father’s Day is scheduled for 2 p.m. and promises “play catch with dad” after the final pitch.
After the game children and their dad can go to the outfield grass and play catch at Louisville Slugger Field.
If a day of baseball sounds perfect to your family, this gift will complete the day.
Louisville Slugger is selling Father’s Day baseball bats. There are two options, a personalized bat or one that says “#1 Dad”.
Ford's Father's Day at the Zoo
The Louisville Zoo is offering free admission to dads on Father’s Day courtesy of Ford Motor Company.
Enjoy a day outside exploring the different exhibits with their own animal families.
Graham treats and scavenger hunts will be available while supplies last, according to their Facebook event page.
Dirt Bowl 50th Anniversary Kickoff
This year’s Dirt Bowl festivities will kick off at Algonquin Park on Father’s Day, the same place it started 50 years ago before the tournament was moved to Shawnee Park in 1970.
Sunday’s event includes a dunk contest and three-point shooting contest.
Painting class
Paint It Sweet is hosting a Father’s Day painting class at Safai Coffee Shop on Bardstown Road from 1 to 4 p.m.
