The Jack O’Lanterns are coming back to Iroquois Park for the 2020 Halloween season!
Louisville’s Jack O’Lantern Spectacular is running for its eight consecutive year. The event features 5,000 artistically crafted pumpkins all placed in Iroquois Park through the month of October.
This year’s spectacular will be a little different, taking place as a drive-thru event to keep visitors safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Louisville Parks Foundation and our production company, Passion for Pumpkins, knew we had to plan this year’s event differently, keeping everyone’s health and safety top-of-mind,” Brooke Pardue, CEO of the Louisville Parks Foundation said. “As a drive-thru, attendees can still enjoy this fall tradition from the safety and comfort of their vehicles.”
“A Hitchhiker’s Guide to Magical Places” is this year’s theme, with displays mirroring real world and fictional locations. Guests will travel through the woods, to ocean depths, into outer space and more, all set to music.
The Jack O’Lantern Spectacular will be held seven days a week from October 1 through November 1. The event will open to guests from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
In addition, a special sensory-friendly night will be held on Sunday, November 1 at 5 p.m. Pumpkins will light up free of music or sound effects, designed for guests with Autism Spectrum Disorders or sensory processing difficulties.
Tickets are $35 per car/SUV/minivan or $50 per passenger van/RV/limousine. Proceeds from the event go toward the Louisville Parks Foundation benefiting the more than 120 public parks and community centers in Louisville.
