Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar, one of Derby City’s most recognized bars and a founding member of the Urban Bourbon Trail, will once again serve guests when it reopens Friday, Nov. 8 alongside Walker’s Exchange inside The Galt House Hotel.
Boasting nearly 180 bourbons – including traditional, high rye, and wheated bourbons – the new Jockey Silks will offer a premier experience for both local bourbon aficionados as well as guests visiting Louisville for the urban bourbon experience. Patrons can enjoy their bourbon straight-up, on the rocks, or in classic cocktails, all served up from behind the expansive copper bar, or sample a rotating selection of bourbon flights, curated by Jockey Silks’ in-house bourbon experts.
But bourbon isn’t the only thing on the menu.
The seasonally adjusted menu will feature 50 core wines and champagne, local beers on tap, and modern iterations of boozy standards like the Gibson martini, Pisco sour, and more.
Not in the mood to imbibe? The Clearheaded section of the menu offers perfectly crafted spirit-free cocktails with sophisticated, unexpected flavor profiles.
A well-edited bar bites menu features delicious surprises such as BBQ peanuts and made-in-house bread & butter pickles, plus more substantial offerings including a double-stack cheeseburger served alongside garlic fries.
Jockey Silks’ reinvention is part of The Galt House Hotel’s $80 million renovation, which will see nearly every inch of the iconic property reborn. Also opening this fall is Walker’s Exchange, which will pay homage to Louisville’s 19th century culinary heritage.
In Spring 2020, Swizzle, a retro supper club reimagined for today’s diner, will welcome guests to the 25th floor of the hotel’s West Tower.
