With social-distanced and virtual learning happening in most of the United States, a local attraction is offering the chance for classrooms to take a virtual field trip!

The Kentucky Derby Museum will be offering 40 teachers and their classrooms the opportunity to take a virtual field trip through the exhibits.

The virtual tour will include:

  • Kentucky Derby related education program of his or her choice
  • Churchill Downs All-Access Student Tour
  • Kentucky Derby Museum Exhibits Tour
  • Question and Answer Session

The museum normally hosts around 15,000 students a year for field trips. This year, a virtual field trip has been created for the museum’s Education Team to continue connecting with students teaching about the history of the Kentucky Derby.

In order to enter, teachers must fill out this form online. The Kentucky Derby Museum will then select at random 20 local teachers from Louisville and Southern Indiana, and 20 teachers from across the country on January 26.

The virtual field trip giveaway has been created with the help of Louisville’s Give for Good community foundation, raising money for local non-profits to help amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
