Plans are solidifying for this year’s Kentucky State Fair.

On Thursday, the Kentucky State Fair Board met to discuss how it plans to bring people back.

The Kentucky State Fair Board said it is planning to lower prices to get crowds back after last year’s event was canceled.

Last year, the fair was closed to visitors amid the COVID pandemic.

The general manager of the Expo Center said his team has reduced prices this year to lure crowds.

“Our executive teams are working hard, and we expect this to be one of the best fairs we’ve had in years,” Kentucky Expo Center General Manager Kevin Moore said. “We’ve put together some very competitive pricing promotions. We think this will grow the attendance and bring those patrons back that have missed the fair over the years.”

The fair is scheduled to run from Aug. 19-29. Tickets are expected to go on sale in July.
