A national landmark is coming to Louisville. Well, the LEGO version anyway. The BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention at the Kentucky International Convention Center will feature the LEGO model of Mount Rushmore in 2020.
Rocco Buttliere, a Chicago-based LEGO artist, built the model with more than 22,000 bricks. Buttliere designed the model in more than 400 hours over eight weeks; it took around 150 hours to build.
Buttliere’s work has been on display around the U.S. and also in England, Scotland, Denmark, Norway, and The Netherlands.
Kentucky International Convention Center hosts the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention on February 1 and 2, 2020. There are two sessions each day: from 10 AM to 1 PM or 2 PM to 5 PM.
LEGO fans can marvel at 30,000 square feet of hands-on LEGO activities throughout South Hall A in the Kentucky International Convention Center. There will be an Architecture Building Zone, professional LEGO artists, the Building Zone, massive LEGO displays, and much more.
Tickets are $15 online and $18 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.brickuniverse.com/louisville.
