Local performer takes the stage in Disney’s The Lion King

Disney’s The Lion King will begin performances Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Kentucky Center.

In its 21st year The Lion King remains one of the most popular stage musicals in the world, with animals coming to life on stage.

The show will run for three weeks through Nov. 17 as part of the PNC Broadway in Louisville Season.

Tickets start at $35 and are available online or at The Kentucky Center box office.

Lexington, Ky native singer, songwriter, and performer Darian Sanders joins the cast in the Male Singer Ensemble and as the understudy for Simba for The Lion King Rafiki Broadway Tour.

Sanders currently works and lives in Louisville, Ky and is a member of Southeast Christian Church ‘s worship team.

He has performed in several Broadway and Television shows including Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen and HBO’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriends.
