A Highlands staple is closing its doors after 35 years.
Uptown Café, which is located at 1624 Bardstown Road, has been in business since 1985.
It was announced Tuesday on Facebook that the restaurant will close for good on Nov. 28.
The eatery was founded in 1985 by Nancy Shepherd who passed away in 2016. After her death, Shepherd’s daughter took over the business.
“It has been an honor being part of this community,” the Facebook post read. “We will miss you Louisville.”
It is unclear exactly why the café is closing. WAVE 3 News has reached out to the owner for more details but have yet to hear back.
