Whether you want to have scary or fun Halloween, Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation has a long list of Spooktober events that everyone can enjoy.

Beechmont Community Center Fall Festival

Beechmont hosts its inaugural Fall Festival on October 26 from 10 AM to 1 PM. The festival includes yoga demonstrations at 10:30 AM, Tai Chi demonstrations at 10:45 AM, music, vendor booths and much more. Admission is free.

Halloween Costume Dance Party

Berrytown Recreation Center hosts a Halloween Dance on Saturday, October 26, from 7 PM to 9 PM. The event is for those ages 18 and older. Admission is five dollars.

California Community Center Halloween Party

Youth & Teen Council Halloween Costume Party

Wear your favorite costume to the California Community Center’s Halloween party on Friday, October 25. The fun lasts from 6 to 8 PM. The event is free for those 13 years and younger. Get ready to show off your dance moves in a dance contest. Parents are welcomed to attend. Admission is free.

Fun, food, games and even a few tricks are on tap for California Community Center’s Halloween Party. The event will be held on October 31 from 5 to 8 PM. Admission is free. The event is for those 13 years and younger.

Douglass Community Center Truck or Treat and Halloween Bingo

The Douglass Community Center is hosting two Halloween events. The first event is the Halloween Trunk or Treat, which will be held in the Cherokee Rehabs parking lot. There will also be a haunted walkthrough to Douglass, where everyone can enjoy Halloween games on their outdoor court (weather permitting), and Halloween activities in their gym. The event will be held Thursday, October 24, from 5 to 8 PM.

The Douglass Community Center partners with Jencase for a Halloween themed bingo and games for seniors on October 31, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM.

Admission is free for both events.

Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular

The Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular features thousands of artistically carved pumpkins and runs through Sunday, November 3 at the Iroquois Amphitheater.

This year’s theme, “The Four Seasons”, features vignettes set to music highlighting themes from literature, pop culture, history, art, and movies. The trail will be open from dusk until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

Tickets range from $10 to $18.

Free Dive-In Movie Night: The House with a Clock in Its Walls

Roll over to the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center for a free Drive-In Movie Night. The event lasts from 7 to 9 PM on Friday, October 25. This movie night’s feature film is “The House with a Clock in Its Walls.”

Learn how to make glow in the dark brains and other cool crafts at the Metro Arts Community Center on Saturday, October 26. The Black Light Halloween Paint and Craft Party lasts from 5 PM to 8 PM. Admission is free.

Check out the Spooky Ooky House Party at the Southwick Community Center on October 30 from 6 PM to 8 PM. The event is for 13 to 19-year-olds.

Wilderness Road Senior Center

The Wilderness Road Senior Center is hosting two Halloween events for seniors.

Seniors provide their pumpkins and Wilderness Road will provide the paint and other supplies. Attendees can decorate pumpkins to take home or leave at the center. The Pumpkin Painting event occurs on Monday, October 28, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.

Bring your favorite covered dish and your fanciest costume for the Halloween Potluck on Thursday, October 31. The event lasts from 11:30 AM till 1: 30 PM.
