Louisville Orchestra conductor Teddy Abrams created a unique performance to honor the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali.
Ali’s speeches and poems were recited as rap lyrics by Louisville hip-hop artist Jecorey “1200” Arthur, with the accompaniment of the full orchestra.
Olivia Dawson narrated the story, which was directed by Jubilant Sykes.
The piece also featured works by Maya Angelou, Walt Whitman, and Amiri Baraka, as well as speeches by Presidents Kennedy and Johnson.
