New flagship KFC restaurant opens on Breckenridge Lane

A brand new Kentucky Fried Chicken flagship restaurant is opening on Breckenridge Lane.

The new restaurant is one of only four KFC restaurants in the United States to feature an enhanced flagshipdesign that utilizes natural wood, exposed brick, oversized windows and more to create a superior dining experience.

“We’re proud to introduce our hometown to this uniquely designed new KFC in Hikes Point,” said Brian Cahoe, chief development officer, KFC U.S. “It is truly a jewel in our hometown crown, and we invite everyone to stop by and try some of the Colonel’s hand breaded and freshly prepared chicken on opening day, June 20.”

The new 2,658 square foot restaurant has dining room seating for more than 55 guests and features high-end design finishes that connect to the brand’s heritage and its founder, Colonel Harland Sanders.

Some key elements of the restaurant’s design include:

  • An open ceiling designed to invite more light in the dining area.
  • Photos of Colonel Sanders, the “original celebrity chef,” showcasing his travels around the world and encounters with other celebrities.
  • A signature bucket chandelier, which is the centerpiece of the restaurant’s dining area.
  • A chalkboard on the front counter listing the name of the cook and the U.S. farm that supplied the chicken being freshly prepared in the restaurant that day.

Signage on the restaurant hails from Kentucky and has ties to Colonel Sanders. It was crafted by Ruggles Sign Company of Versailles, which was founded by the husband of one of Colonel Sanders’ daughters.

In addition, the restaurant will include a number of consumer technologies like self-order kiosks, and interior and exterior drive-thru digital menuboards. There will also be designated delivery driver parking to further enable delivery service to our customers.

The new location will also give back to the community through participation in KFC’s Harvest food donation program. Through the Harvest program, KFC restaurant team members will pack and store unsold and wholesome food to donate to local nonprofits that provide meals to those in need. The new Hikes Point restaurant will pack donations for Kentucky Harvest each week.

The new restaurant officially opens to the public on June 20. It’s located at 2945 Breckenridge Lane.
