Pure Barre Cherokee Park holds grand reopening events

A grand re-opening this weekend, for the Pure Barre fitness studio, near Cherokee Park.

The location hasn’t changed, but the ownership has. Erin Abell and Tara Gwynn are both Pure Barre teachers who decided to take a risk during the pandemic by taking over the location.

Pure Barre is a workout that uses a ballet barre at times to help lengthen and tone muscles.

Gwynn told WAVE 3 News on Friday the last year of uncertainty led them to the venture.

“Very difficult,” she said. “Kind of just taking a chance and believing in this workout — believing in this community. Scary, but exciting.”

The new owners are inviting anyone to check out the Cherokee Park location by offering free introductory classes throughout the weekend.
