Skate World in Louisville closes after more than 40 years in business

A staple in the Okolona neighborhood is closing its doors after more than 40 years in business.

Skate World on Preston Highway announced over the weekend they will be permanently closing.

The business was started by Gerry Miller and her son Ward Miller back in 1978. The Miller family created the rink to allow people to gather, offering a “fun atmosphere and safe environment” for families, according to their Facebook post.
