Kenny Chesney is bringing his “Songs for the Saints 2019 Tour” to the Derby City.
Chesney is focusing on smaller venues that don’t usually get visited during the bigger stadium tours to mirror the intimacy of his latest album.
“We have played the stadium in Louisville several times, but in really looking at this notion, I wanted to give them something more intimate,” Chesney explains. “This tour is going to really feel like a club show – and put the music front and center.”
The tour starts in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center on April 4.
Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m.
“We know how to do stadiums, and we love the rush of those shows,” Chesney said. “But you never want to get to where you take it for granted, or you’re so used to it, it’s just what you do. There’s a real intimacy even in arenas that you don’t have in a stadium, and it’s something we’ve not had for a while. To me, it’s a whole other canvas for us – and I’m psyched about it.”
#SONGSFORTHESAINTS is out and it’s more personal than anything I’ve done. There’s a lot of seeking, a lot of healing and definitely songs about how we face things. This album is about lifting people up and reminding them what they’re made of. Listen here https://t.co/J5d1v88pKk
