The James Beard Foundation will be bringing Taste America back to Louisville to celebrate American cuisine. This will be the second time the Taste America series has come to Louisville in its seven-year lifetime. The series also will be visiting other cities all over the country.
The series, presented by Capital One, will begin Sept. 26 in the Speed Art Museum and will continue the next day on the rooftop of the Brown Hotel. It will be home to many local chefs and culinary experts from restaurants such as Volare, Freight House, Hell or High Water , even Hi Five Donuts, and many more.
At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with the chefs and mixologists who are representing the restaurants and bars. They will also have the chance to learn how to build a more sustainable food world.
Because Capital One is an official partner of the James Beard foundation, cardholders will be able to purchase a Capital One Access Pass that will grant them access to special benefits and experiences. These passes can be purchased by visiting jamesbeard.org/tasteamerica.
In order to highlight its Good Food for Good platform, the foundation also has partnered with Food Recovery Network in order to make donations to hunger-fighting charities. This effort will help reduce waste and increase inclusivity and chef advocacy. In events that are food Recovery Verified, all surplus food will be donated to support people in need in each city.
