Multi-Grammy Award-winning singer Tori Kelly will be heading to Louisville to sing the National Anthem at this year’s Kentucky Derby.
Kelly, a gospel and R&B singer, will be performing The Star-Spangled Banner just before the 147th Run for the Roses. The performance is scheduled just after 5 p.m. Saturday.
“Tori Kelly is one of music’s most vibrant, versatile artists, and we look forward to her national anthem performance as we come together this year to celebrate the Kentucky Derby,” Mike Anderson, President of Churchill Downs Racetrack said. “We are excited to welcome Tori to Louisville to help us kick off the Run for the Roses on the first Saturday in May.”
Kelly recently completed two collaborations with pop star Justin Bieber, and is the 11th major artist to perform the National Anthem live at the Derby. Past artists include Jennifer Nettles in 2019, Pentatonix in 2018, Martina McBride in 2013, and Mary J. Blige in 2012.
