Union 15 to open in Colonial Gardens

Union 15 is a south end pizza and beer hall serving hot pies and cold beverages.

A new pizzeria and tap house opens in Colonial Gardens.

Union 15 is the second tenant for the renovated landmark near Iroquois Park.

Mayor Greg Fischer joined the owners of Union 15 to cut the ribbon for the official opening of the pizzeria and tap house Tuesday morning.

Union 15 is a concept crafted by business partners Paul Blackburn and Alex Tinker, both grew up in the South End.

When they saw Colonial Gardens being renovated, they knew it’s where they’d be setting up shop.

“As soon as I saw the announcement like 3 or 4 years ago, it’s taken that long to get this thing going,” Union 15 Founder, Paul Blackburn said. “I told my business partners we have to do something there. It’s going to be one of the best places in town. Being here was definitely one of the main motivators.”

It will serve Chicago thin crust and hand-tossed pizza and have more than 50 beers on tap.

In addition to pizza, the menu includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and dessert.

The owners plan to support more Kentucky businesses with their pizzeria– serving local beers and hiring from within the community.
