Louisville’s WorldFest is back and it’s happening Friday through Monday.

Its the weekend’s premier event in the city to find international food, dancing, and merchandise.

For a lot of people, it’s not just a festival though.

“It was rough for us last year,” said Ramiro Gandara, of Ramiro’s Cantina. “Every restaurant struggled. Every business struggled.”

Louisville’s WorldFest is back this weekend, and is the premier event in the city to find international food, dancing, and merchandise.

Gandara said this is an opportunity to fight back against COVID-19.

It’s the same story for Grace Jackson. She’s selling matching African head wraps, face masks and earrings.

It’s the community support the festival offers that makes her happy to be back.

“Somebody once told me, always support, be supported, and always have people to love,” Jackson said. “I think that’s what this situation gives me as we all want to come and take pride in all that we do.”

According to WorldFest’s website, there will be nearly 150 international-themed arts, crafts, merchandise, and food booths.

There will also be a naturalization ceremony for roughly 150 immigrants.
